Excellent resource to increase your vocabulary. Will pictures help? Click on 'Picture Dictionaries' to see words with their pictures. Search by topic, part of speech, collocations, phrasal verbs, business English, slang, etc.. The lists of categories and the lists of words are almost endless and the site if free to access. This website contains thousands and thousands of vocabulary words with sample sentences and grammar explanations.

Vocabulary - Flashcards and Practice

Flashcards based on how frequently native speakers use words. Divided into four sections called 'Arrays': Basics for Reading, Basics for Speaking, Foundations, and Academic Word List. You will need to create a free Quizlet account if you don't already have one (not the trial - no card needed). The class 'ESL Vocabulary Builders' will show up as one of your 'classes' once you click the button below and login/create your Quizlet account. You can download the Quizlet app to practice on your phone.

Videos - Educational Videos

Videos are educational and can be sorted by subject and filtered for learning levels or other options. Each video has questions or a quiz available, an option for additional resources, points for discussion, and a final thought. Find what interests you and use Closed Caption [CC] if you need to see the words spoken in the video.

Videos - Educational Videos

These videos are usually at a native speed and can include some complicated vocabulary. Search for something that interests you, and you can always read the transcript as the video plays.
