Methodology...
Hello! We at GenInglés would like to help you learn English. We are native English speakers, born and raised in the United States. We have been living in Mexico for four years, where we offer private English classes young learners. Classes are available for individuals or small groups. We offer special prices for groups of students who want to take their classes together, when and if they have approximately the same level of English (maximum 6 people).
We speak both English and Spanish. This is the reason we prefer to teach English to Spanish speakers. We better understand your needs as a foreign language student since we have been language students ourselves. Do not worry. We have a lot of patience and there is no reason to feel embarrassed if you make any mistakes. We want you to be confident with the language and to learn it. That is why you are here.
We love adapting our teaching methodologies and techniques for each student according to their needs. We use the communicative approach, where you will learn English based on real life for classroom, situational and/or social needs.
We also offer test preparation classes for TOEFL iTP/pBT or TOEFL iBT. We teach levels A1 to C2 and will help you with any gaps that exist in your language learning. We work with native pronunciation, not only to improve your own pronunciation, but also so that you can better understand native speakers. We will also work together to increase your vocabulary.
We will speak English in class, but we will speak Spanish when necessary for translation or for better understanding, especially to understand grammar rules. We like to make grammar rules much easier to understand and remember.
We teach through Zoom and it only requires a good Internet connection. The best connections are usually by Ethernet or HDMI cables. We have found that classes through Zoom are much more interactive and allow the use of many additional resources, which is not possible in person. Our students actually prefer online classes.

Professional Experience...
The TEFL / TESOL certification has provided us with a solid background in theories, approaches, methodologies, strategies, learning styles and grammatical structures of language learning. The training completed took into account learning at all levels of the language, from A1 to C2.
Our personal, academic, and professional experience has provided us with a diverse knowledge base from which to structure our classes. Additionally, Lauri's personal education at the University of New Mexico consisted of a large percentage of language and linguistic courses that served to enhance her understanding of language learning. We also continue to develop our skills by keeping abreast of the latest information on language learning and teaching. We ensure that our students have many resources available for their study of English outside of the classroom setting and we constantly strive to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our students.
